Exceptional People - Exceptional StoriesMater Health Services is working with Feral Arts to develop a unique digital storytelling and communications system in the Mater Hospital. Building on the outcomes of a successful pilot project with the Mater Mothers' Hospital Neonatal Critical Care Unit, the project is beginning to explore the power of stories in other parts of the Mater (read more).
The first stage of this innovative arts and health partnership - Mater Newborn Placestories - is now up and running! Families of children born at the Mater are invited to join in the project and create and share their own digital stories and add them to the growing collection. A touchscreen system in the parents lounge of the Hospital's new Neonatolgy Unit is displaying the stories to new Mater Mothers' patients and visitors. |
Over the next 18 months the partnership will move into the next stage with more work with the Neonatal Critical Care Unit and the Mater Newborn project, as well as new projects in other areas of the hospital.
